The cumbersome process makes it impossible to be efficient

Today, I organized a procedural meeting and prepare the necessary documentation for reimbursement.

After taking medicine yesterday, I feel much better now. My head isn’t as foggy as yesterday, my throat isn’t as dry, and my runny nose stopped. I expect I’ll be fully recovered in another day or two. Colds make me feel miserable-I guess I should really do more physical exercise to enhance my immune system.

I woke up around 7:00 this morning but lingered in bed until 7:30 before getting up. Partly because the temperature dropped, makes me want to stay sunggled under the covers for longer time, and partly because I skipped my usual routine last night, so I took advantage of the time before getting up for masturbation.

With a heavy cold, hiking to workplace was out of the question, so I took a taxi to the office. I also brought the mug I bought online to my office-it would be inconvenient to carry if I hike to work. Upon opening the package, I was taken aback:the mug was an old-fashioned style one, which’s kind are usually hold by the elderly folks when sipping tea at street corners. I really want to put it back in the shipping box now.

This morning we held a simple meeting to go through the motions for a so-called call for papers event. We invited a few experts to pretend to be reviewers so we could pay them subsidy, and also to keep a record of the activity for reporting to higher authorities. I spent a whole day revising the event plan. After wrapping up the meeting today, we still have the reimbursement process to go through. Reimbursement is also a hassle—exceeding certain thresholds requires approval from the unit’s leadership meeting, and exceeding even more requires approval from the bureau’s leadership meeting. Various materials need to be filled out and stamped, and the whole process will likely take at least three to five days.

The afternoon wasn’t too busy, but I didn’t have much leisure time either. I only managed to sneak in some CPA accounting practice questions before clocking out. The last time I studied was about two weeks ago—things have been crazy lately, and I haven’t touched it for a long time. Thankfully, the current exercise went smoothly without any hiccups, and today passed without incident. Hopefully we can get through the next few days unscathed. After that, our department should be pretty much done with tasks, and we can coast through the final month or two.

Lately, things have been pretty hectic, but once things settle down a bit, I plan to start building a content site. I believe a content site is the most suitable entrepreneurial path for me: First, the startup costs are low. By using a purely static solution, you only need the cost of a domain name to build the site. Second, it requires less energy to maintain. Compared to programming projects, the main effort for a content site goes into topic selection, writing, and SEO optimization, which takes relatively less time. Unlike programming projects, it doesn’t require a lot of time for maintenance. Third, content sites align with my interests. I genuinely enjoy writing, and the more I do it, the more I love it.
